Raising Greater Minds was born from the desire to give all youth access to educational and other endeavors regardless of their socio-economic background.

Christine Greathouse started the non-profit, Raising Greater Minds, after forming the Des Moines Metro Homeschool Wonder League—a free educational robotics club open to all homeschool children. Wonder League is a program focusing on robotics and coding for kids.

Raising Greater Minds was created with the goal of fundraising on a broader scale to support educational programs for local youth. The process of starting the non-profit has shown us what a truly great community the Des Moines Metro is. As we navigate the world of non-profits, which is all new to us, we have met many helpful people and been introduced to the wonderful opportunities that the Des Moines Metro has to offer non-profits. We’d like to say a special thank you to the Transactional Business/Non-profits Clinic at Drake University that has provided us, as well as other non-profits and entrepreneurs, the legal services and guidance needed to maneuver this complicated non-profit segment.

Although the organization's first project is focused on homeschool children, the board hopes that its next project will benefit all area youth. We believe that all children should be given equal opportunities to discover and succeed in this world.
